  • Immigration: Germans receive a tourist visa for 90 days at the port of entry. Unfortunately these days continue counting of you leave the country. With this we were facing some trouble to re-enter the country months later, but all was fine at the end.

    exchange rate 2014: 14 Rand = 1 Euro. This is an all-time-low for the Rand - good for our travel fund!
  • price level: groceries are less expensive than in Germany and in the neighboring countries. Diesel cost 1 Euro/Liter.
